Children targeted by this project are those living in extreme poverty. Majority have lost either both or one of their parents due to HIV/AIDS.

These children are special group in the community as they are exposed to:
- Abuse from relatives and community members
- Child labour
- Sexual abuse
- Lack of attendance to school
- Lack of food leading to malnutrition
- Lack of parental love
- Stigma
- Diseases due to exposure to cold and mosquito

| If such children are not supported they end up in the streets, others become thieves or prostitutes predisposing themselves to HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Gonorrhea, syphilis, early pregnancy, drugs etc. |

KESHA has the following activities in improving the lives of these children:
- Identifying orphans and vulnerable children from the target community.
- Educate the community on the important of supporting these children.
- Support the KESHA CBOs in taking care of these children.
- Helping these children to go back to school.
- Partnering with other organization including the Government ministries, Churches etc. to advocate for the rights of children.
- Taking care of the very needy children in homes e.g. Nelly children home.
- Providing Guiding and counseling to these children.
- The project is finalizing plans to provide computer lessons to the children at the Nelly Children Home and other orphans living with their parents.
- Seeking for partners and sponsors to support these activities.
